Molson Brings Taste of Brazil to Schenker

Molson is encouraging beer drinkers everywhere to leave their inhibitions at the door and take a Brazilian adventure. At least that's what their newest product, A Marca Bavaria is promising to deliver. A valued partner of the brewing giant, Schenker of Canada was offered the opportunity to put their latest product to the test.



Molson representatives received a welcome reception when they arrived at corporate headquarters with a cooler of samples and prize packs. The announcement of their visit drew a higher than expected turnout of Schenker employees and that reaction is exactly what Molson is counting on. Research indicates that an imported beer from Brazil would be appealing to Canadian beer drinkers and once sampled, their interest in the purchase of the product would be extremely high.

Molson launched A Marca Bavaria on March 13, 2003 - a year after its acquisition of Brazil's second largest brewery, Kaiser. The latest addition to Molson's portfolio marks the first introduction of a Brazilian beer on the Canadian market, as well as the brewer's fully owned import brand.

A Marca Bavaria is presently being distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario and will be available in the Quebec and Atlantic markets prior to the 2003 summer season.

Schenker has been providing customs and freight forwarding services to Molson for over a decade and is currently looking at ways to enhance their service offerings, namely expanding the use of electronic interchange.
