Schenker is pleased to announce a new sponsor partnership with the Canadian Yachting Association. As part of the agreement, Schenker will provide specialized transportation solutions for CYA member yachts and racing vessels.
The Canadian Yachting Association was founded in 1931 to field Canada’s first Olympic sailing team and the organization now serves a membership estimated at 80,000 yacht club and marina members in 400 yacht clubs and schools across Canada. Canadian Sailing Team members will be transporting their racing boats to the Summer Games in Athens, Greece this summer and Schenker will provide critically important logistics services to ensure these boats reach their Olympic destination from wherever the teams have been training, in Canada or around the world.
Schenker was recently appointed as Official Supplier to the Olympic Organizing Committee (IOC) for freight forwarding and customs clearance services for the Olympic Games. Schenker will work with the IOC for the Games in Athens 2004, Turin 2006 and Beijing 2008, further strengthening their ability to offer the most comprehensive logistics services available.
While Schenker has developed a transportation network around the world to optimize the shipping process, political tensions make logistics knowledge and expertise more important than ever. Many Schenker facilities have local customs officials on-site and their global network of over 36,000 logistics specialists will ensure the smooth and expedited passage of your goods – no matter what the size.
Through this new sponsor partnership, CYA members can easily obtain personalized assistance to transport their private yachts to warmer climates for winter vacation enjoyment and chartering. CYA member yacht clubs organizing regattas, both for Canadian participants and for international competition this coming summer, can also benefit from Schenker’s integrated range of services.
Schenker of Canada spans a coast-to-coast network that extends to all major harbours, airports and border crossings. In just over half a century, 16 branches have emerged with 600 Schenker employees. The global exchange of goods is expedited by logistics specialists, trained in the fields of land, air and ocean service solutions.
