Traffic restrictions & factory closures during the G20 Summit, Hangzhou CN
The Chinese Government will be hosting the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province in China, on September 4, 2016.
To meet quality and security requirements, the local government has announced partial or complete closures of factories and traffic control measures effective in the weeks leading up to the summit.
These measures are expected to cause disruptions to regular operations processes in the next weeks. Due to the proximity of the G20 venue to major ports of Ningbo and Shanghai, it may also affect the logistics operations in those areas. While the exact impact on business operations are yet to be determined, following are the restrictions that have already been announced:
We would like to advise you to take the following actions to minimize impact on the businesses:
- Place shipment bookings early
- Liaise in advance your DB Schenker local representatives to communicate your shipment requirements
- Highlight any urgent shipments
Should there be further restrictions announced, we will update you accordingly. If you require more information, please contact your local DB Schenker sales representative or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also check our online updates here or follow our WeChat account (ID: db_schenker).
