Tropical cyclone Haima's impact on ocean and air operations
The Hong Kong Observatory issuing the No 8 Storm Signal at 6:10 a.m. today (HKT, Friday 21 October), flights into and out of Hong Kong International Airport are expected to operate normally until approximately 11:00 a.m. Flight operations are determined by wind speed and direction at the airport.
We are expecting significant disruptions, including cancellations and delays, for flights to/from Hong Kong from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 October. Flights after 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 October, are subject to delays due to air traffic constraints. The situation is subject to change.
Our office will be closed today and will resume normal operations once Typhoon no.8 Storm Signal is off.
Schenker office in Hong Kong is closed due to signal number 8, typhoon Haima. Ocean operations are on hold and for air operations, almost 700 flights are delayed or cancelled. According to the Hong Kong Observatory forecast, the typhoon signal number 8 will last for more hours today.
