Shared responsibility

German CEOs for Climate Protection

Many businesses are already actively engaged in the fight against global warming. DB takes its responsibility very seriously, as well.

Dr. Rüdiger Grube, CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, is a member of “2° – German CEOs for Climate Protection”, the initiative established by Dr. Michael Otto, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Otto Group. The members of the initiative aim to provide the impetus for.tangible progress in the fight against global warming – through entrepreneurial action, by promoting public acceptance, and by supporting political decision-makers.
The member companies of the 2° Initiative provide policy advice on protecting the global climate for the German government and political decision-makers on a national and international level. At the same time, they aim to contribute directly towards climate protection through entrepreneurial action and technological innovation. They do this in cooperation with politicians, business partners and the general public. “Delivering Climate Protection”, the policy paper published by the 2° Initiative in May 2011, in which DB Schenker was heavily involved, brings the relevance and potential of goods transport into the public and political debate on global warming, and outlines possible solutions.
