Alliance for environment
Research project on climate-neutral road transport
This research project consisting of 15 members was initiated in 2006 and aims by 2020 to halve the CO2 emissions caused by road-based freight transport in Sweden compared to 2005 levels.
As well as DB Schenker, its members include fuel producers, truck manufacturers, logistics service providers, universities, and the Swedish Road Administration. To achieve this target, 51 different measures are currently in progress, including increased use of alternative fuels, reducing emissions in fuel production, and promoting energy-saving driving styles. The greatest strength of this research project, however, is its shared knowledge management. It offers a platform for discussing and implementing new methods, ideas, and technology. This exchange of expertise among different industries and companies opens up new opportunities for working together to reduce negative environmental impact.
